open letter to God

my Lord and my God
please let me know
what is my purpose
on this earth below

You gave me good parents
and they taught me well
to be a good person
so i won't go to hell

You gave me these talents
these gifts early in life
i am grateful to have them
but am i using them right?

You gave me experiences
some are good, some are bad
I do know they're great teachers
of the life I now have

so far, so good
i have a job, i have a degree
though my life isn't what i planned
i know it's not all about me

there has got to be a connection
to all You have provided
please let me know, oh Lord
please let me be enlightened
